2010 Choir Camp
For young people who really like to sing!

The curriculum is designed to help students improve their individual singing skills, learn to sing well with others, learn to read music from a score, and have fun with music. Campers will be divided into two groups: Grades 5-6; Grades 7-9. The daily schedule will involve 1) choir rehearsals, a music class, a small group lesson, lunch and recreation and a special activity (Picnic in the Park; Bowling @ ABC Lanes; Swimming @YMCA; Gymnastics @Chalk Box; Community Service Performance Event. The Camp staff includes certified music teachers Kathleen Milford, Taylor Peel, as well as experienced teaching assistants and parent volunteers.
The registration fee for each camp is $90. Scholarships donations are being accepted from organizations, churches, schools, music booster clubs, and individuals that wish to sponsor a young person for Choir Camp and will be made available to those who need fee assistance to attend. The fee includes instruction, music, facility, a daily snack, and administrative materials, and special activity. Performance shirts for the concert are additional ($20) for those who need them. Campers will need to bring a packed lunch each day. A Camp Concert is scheduled for Friday, July 30 at 4:00 (camp day extended on Friday!) that will be open to the public with no admission charge. The Ashtabula County Choral Music Society has been providing arts opportunities in Ashtabula County since 1989 with a mission goal of performances of quality choral works for audiences and educational and musical experiences for singers.
